Some things I've learned recently.
Not to be afraid of patterns and color.

I made this block for the 15 minute a day Quilts of Valor www.15minutesplay.com . I love this block, I think I need to start using more color, after seeing this.

I've also learned not to be afraid to try something new. And I learned that I enjoy hand applique!

I've been admiring Stephanie's Dresden plates for a long time and a couple of months ago I decided to give it a try. My only regret is that I don't have more of the charm packs I used for this. I could keep on going. The circles were a little tough, but as I did each one, they improved!
I'm definitely going to be using dresden plates more often. I just need to quilt it.
Thanks Stephanie www.loftcreations.blogspot.com for a great tutorial.

A new quilt for Margaret's Hope Chest www.margaretshopechest.com
I love that I used all scraps to make it!

I've been away for a while recupperating from a back injury. Not being able to exercise as much as I usually do has gotten me down but being unable to sit for more than 10 minutes at a time has been cutting into my sewing, which has left me frustrated. But I'm going to start trying to sew and blogging again.

Last week my younger kids when back to school!

My sister was visiting while her house had no power thanks to Irene and while she was here my kids discovered a new past time!

As soon as they left the shore I realized I forgot to tell my son, no bumping boats, Darn! Boys! Need to make that clear for the next time.

This weekend I am resting from a procedure I had done on Friday for my back, so:
I have a new book

A quilt to be finished for Margaret's Hope Chest www.margaretshopechest.com

Some blocks to finish piecing

And some new fabric to start playing with! Thanks Stephanie for pointing me to this a couple of weeks ago, I went back since and this particular print was sold out!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
