What a shock!
I went with my daughter to buy a sewing pattern for her apparel class. A pattern costs $16.00 !!! It was on sale though for $10.00. Does anyone else remember when sewing your own clothes was an economical alternative to buying them in the store? If we are lucky the pattern will cost 10, the fabric will cost about 15, then add on buttons, interfacing and thread. This blouse will cost $30.00 to make.
Anyone know of an less expensive way to buy patterns or websites to suggest?

A little shopping this weekend

This little piece of fabric HAD to come home with me. Now what to do with it.
Any suggestions?

A little quilt rack sitting in front of the antique store begged me to bring it home too.
I'm off to the hardware store (sandpaper, paint and a dropcloth (can't forget that - I'm a messy painter). My quiltrack needs a makeover.

FINISHED!!!!

I finally finished my quilt from the 15 minute a day challenge www.15minutesplay.com . The best thing other than the brightness of this quilt (note to self: learn to take better pictures) is that it is all - except for the black dotted centers - all from scraps, many of these tiny pieces I would have otherwise thrown away. I love this quilt!

I love fabric, I love little fabric blocks, I love little fabric scraps

A long time ago I won a little giveaway that Nanette www.fredashive.blogspot.com was having. She very kindly sent me a pack of 3 1/2" squares. I was delighted and spent a long time admiring them and thinking about what to do with them. I. Love. Every. Little. Block. So it had to be something that I could be able to look at them all together at the same time and this is what I came up with.
It was intended to become a bulletin board (with the pins going into the osnaburg that I used). But for now I hung it in my laundry room, where I spend a lot of time. Thank you again Nanette!

I also redid my block for the 15 minute a day bee and am much happier with it. Off it goes to Victoria tommorrow.
