Just meandering around

The past few days I've been doing something I've had in mind for a long time ... practicing my free motion quilting. With the exception of a few spots so far so good. But why is it when I get to a fabric that the quilting will stand out I do my worst, I have free motion anxiety and the only rememdy is more practice!

Still no sewing, but if I weren't a stay at home mom I would do this, cause it just looks fun. The bad news is that we needed to take down this tree, the good news is that it will provide lots of firewood and as soon as my husband cuts all this up I can start my backyard landscaping plans!

There hasn't been much sewing the past few days. But there's been lots of jam making, and strawberry eating. Lots and lots of strawberry eating. This batch was strawberry heaven. One more day of jam making, followed by cleaning the kitchen of all the stickiness, then it's back to sewing.

I was spoiled for Mothers Day and received some lovely flowers from my family. In the spirit of that I joined the One Flower Wednesday over at www.journeyofaquilter.blogspot.com . I'm also working on the pinwheel along at www.twiddletails.blogspot.com . I joined late, but made 4 blocks this week. Let's not forget the jellyroll along over at www.moosequilts.blogspot.com . I spent a long time last night and this morning with my seam ripper removing quilting lines that I wasn't happy with. Unsewing = no fun! But, for Jacquie's Spring to Finish Challenge www.tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com I got my whirlygig quilt together and it's next on my to quilt list and that was fun.
