I couldn't resist the Charm pack from Moda's line - Snippets. My lqs had 1 left and I finally broke down and bought it. And then I found the Pinwheel pattern on Moda's bake shop. I'm happy with the quilting on this one - I did a cross grid type of line. I really need to make more pinwheel quilts.

This weekend I began quilting the raggedy squares quilt I made from Crazy Mom's blog. Hopefully I'll finish it by the end of the week. Maggie got vacuumed she is very furry now that her coat has grown in and seems to enjoy this a lot. I think she was smiling for the picture.

A Finish!
She moved into her college apartment last month - but I finally finished my daughter's quilt. It is the largest quilt I have made so far. I really didn't have any trouble quilting it on my little machine. I machine sewed the binding on and am really pleased with how that turned out. Thanks to everyone who helped me with that several weeks ago. Now it's off to the post office to mail it!

The past few days saw very little sewing. I did play around with wavy quilting lines though. I received this charm square in a charm swap that I did a while back and there was only one like it. So I've put it into it's own hot pad and experimented with some wavy lines. It's a fun stitch to use - but I think I need some more practice.

I have 22 pounds of peaches that need putting up which will keep me from much sewing for a couple of days (1 day to make jam and preserves and 1 day to clean up the sticky mess).

More help please?
How does one do a zig-zag quilting line. I assume I use a zig-zag stitch on my sewing machine but not sure what setting to use. I remember seeing this on a blog demonstrated - but after looking through my list I can't find the bookmarked one.
For now I'm off our farmer's market before the kids get home from school to buy peaches for jam and preserves if it isn't too late in the season.
Coming tomorrow .... a finish!

a question
Has anyone used osnaburg fabric for quilting. I was looking at it today and liked the way it looks - plus it's price. So I was wondering if anyone has used it and how it behaved for you.

I worked on a baby quilt this weekend that I'm not going to show until I finish it completely - which should be by Thursday. But I also put together this block for a little contest my lqs is having. After making mine for the contest - I want to make more - table runners, wallhanging, birthday table toppers - so many possibilities.

2nd September finish
Hurray - my second September finish and another UFO off my pile! I had a good reason for this one not getting done. I put so much time into the redwork, but when I finished it last year I thought my quilting skills were not good enough. Since then I have practiced and thought it was time. I did just a simple diagonal quilting line and am really pleased with the way it turned out. Don't you love plaid binding?

I love my backing fabric.
Have a terrific weekend -it's a three day weekend here, and I plan to sew over it. Who knows what I'll get done now that I'm on a roll!

First September Finish
I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed. I finished this very simple table runner as a present for my sister. It took me 10 minutes to finish. It's been a ufo since last fall and all it took was 10 minutes. I'd better look through that ufo pile more closely. I wish all of them could be that easily done.
