still more catching up
I've still been playing catch up - here are some Bom's from my local quilt shop. It's a Christmas block of the month - so if I do them all when I'm supposed to I'll have a little holiday quilt. With these 4 - I'm all caught up on this. All of the fabric has some gold in it - so I should start looking for a sashing fabric.

catching up
I've gotten behind on Crazy Mom's star quilt-a-long. I don't think I've posted these pictures yet. So many triangles and I am happy with the way they turned out. I was so anxious to get them posted I forget to trim the blocks. I'm not sure about that plaid and flowered print together. I've gotten my Orange Crush put together and now I need to quilt it. I'm still regretting my choice of fabric - I've seen so many terrific looking ones out there posted. I promised myself to not post a photo of it until it's done - which hopefully will be soon.

Feeling Crabby Today
I downloaded this pattern some time ago from Mimi Dietrich's website. I bought this crab fabric last year and thought it would be a perfect summer little quilt.

Look what I got in the mail
I mailed my pincushion today ... and my pincushion arrived today! What timing. Nancy in Norway sent me a lovely pincushion with a needlecase(look at the stiching on the needle case very tiny and perfect) and some chocolates. My family and I are going to sample these after dinner tonight. Also the card she sent was so perfect - here's a picture of it - wouldn't you love to have these in your cupboard? Thanks Nancy these really made my day!
I am a little worried about my pincushion - the post office was out of boxes, tape and air mailers - arrrgh. I put it in a cushioned mailer and of course it's not breakable. So let's hope for the best. If it doesn't get there in 1 piece let me know please!
I've wanted to make comments on my partners blog for some time now, but didn't want to spoil the suprise so I am excited about her getting the package so I can comment on some of the lovely things she has been working on.

Do you ever come out of your quilt shop and think "uh-oh what have I done"?
The dear sweet lady who owns the local quilt shop gave me these. She was doing some cleaning out and came across these partially made dresden plate blocks. She promises that it will be simple to finish them (we'll see). There are some finished plates and lots of pieces. I hated to say no so I took them - I only took about 1/3rd. Two other women in my sewing group took the rest so it could have been worse. Plus they were free and I think it made her happy that we took them. What about these 70's fabrics?
